New BLAST tool for sequence identification of bacteria and fungi

Molzym recently released a tool, SepsiTest^TM BLAST, for BLAST identification of bacteria and fungi (www.sepsitest-blast.net). The tool relies on more than 7,300 quality-controlled reference sequences of the 16S (bacteria) and 18S (fungi) rRNA genes of only cultured species, avoiding frustrating listing of uncultured sequences when pathogens are seeked. SepsiTest^TM BLAST is outlined as a tool for the sequence-based identification of pathogenic organisms detected in blood or other body fluids, but is available also for other testings.
