Workshop I:

“Automation in Culture-Independent, Sequencing-Based Pathogen Diagnosis”

Automation is an important issue in daily routine diagnosis. Molzym provides an unique automated DNA extraction specifically adapted to the unbiased, culture-independent diagnosis of bacterial and fungal pathogens. The one-day course will confer theoritical and practical skills in the automated sample preparation and the Real-Time PCR analysis of eluates for microbial DNA based on Micro-Dx™ CE IVD:

Basics of automated DNA extraction and unbiased, pathogen diagnosis Introduction to the SelectNA™plus robot Pre-treatment of tissue samples Loading of the robot with samples Real-Time PCR analysis of bacterial DNA Interpretation of Real-Time PCR melting curves Analyses and interpretation of sequencing results

9:30 - 12:30 Practical part I: 

• Introduction to the SelectNA™plus robot
• Loading of the robot with samples and automated DNA isolation
• 16S rRNA Real-Time-PCR

13:30 - 16:00 Practical part II:

• Interpretation of melting curves
• Analysis and interpretation of sequencing results by different online BLAST tools
• Overview: Clinical samples and case studies

“Unbiased, Direct Identification of Microorganisms in Clinical Samples”

In this one-day professional training you get a detailed theoretical and practical insight into the procedure of detection and identification of pathogens by Molzym’s diagnostic test, SepsiTest™-UMD CE IVD. The course includes:

Basics of unbiased, broad-range pathogen diagnosis Sample pre-treatment for removal of human DNA Preparation of microbial DNA Real-Time PCR analysis of bacterial DNA Interpretation of Real-Time PCR melting curves Analyses and interpretation of sequencing results
